Import from Linear

Bring an existing Linear backlog into Iterel as missions and tasks, so a team can move without leaving its history behind.

Two ways in, no lock-in

Open Project settings → Import from Linear. Provide either a Linear API token — Iterel fetches issues and projects over Linear's API and never stores the key — or a CSV export, parsed in the browser. Either path produces the same preview, so no Linear seat is required to move a backlog across.

What maps to what

  • Linear projects become missions, with target dates preserved.
  • Linear issues become tasks. Priority maps to Iterel's low / normal / high / critical; workflow state maps to the board lanes (started → in progress, completed or canceled → done, otherwise backlog); estimate maps to the nearest Fibonacci effort.
  • Comments, assignee, and labels are preserved as spec notes on the task.
  • Each task keeps a link back to its original Linear issue by identifier.

Preview, then commit

Review the planned missions and tasks before anything is created. On import, Iterel creates them through the same task pipeline as native work, and a partial failure rolls back the tasks it created. Issues without a project land ungrouped so nothing is dropped.
